Our Mission

Changing Lives One Paw at a Time

Second Chance Paws was founded in 2013 with a simple belief: every pet deserves a loving home. We rescue animals from high-kill shelters, provide veterinary care and rehabilitation, and match them with carefully screened adopters.

We're a volunteer-driven organization — 85% of our workforce is volunteers, and 92% of every dollar goes directly to animal care. Since our founding, we've saved over 2,800 pets and built a community of 1,500+ foster families, volunteers, and donors.

Our Portland-based facility includes a full veterinary clinic, behavioral training program, and a network of foster homes across Oregon and Washington.
